We have tailored this event specifically for the adult flute player. During the day you will have access to:

Specialist advice

Opportunities to play ensemble music and the larger flutes

Mini-masterclass and technical workshop

Pianist on hand throughout the day

End of day concert

Just Flutes will be open especially for you! So you could try out a new instrument or simply browse the best flute music catalogue in the country – the choice is yours!

You will be able to improve your flute playing and enjoy making music in the company of like-minded people. We can accommodate all levels of playing ability and will tailor the ensemble repertoire to ensure that everyone can fulfil their potential.

Certainly it’s a great way to spend a Sunday.

Plan of events:

Session 1 10.00
We will start with a large flute ensemble before dispersing into smaller groups. This will enable us all to get to know one another and explore some wonderful flute chamber music.

Coffee 11.15

Session 2 11.30
Here you have a choice!

1) I will be taking a technical class during which you can raise any flute-playing issues that concern you.

2) Our pianist will also be on hand to rehearse any piece that you need help with. Each slot will approximately 20 minutes long and is a bookable event – first come, first served!

Lunch 1.00
Make the most of the relaxed atmosphere that is a shop open just for you!

Session 3 2.00
We will now go back to playing the chamber music rehearsed earlier in the day. It will also be possible for you to have more time with the accompanist if you wish.

Tea 3.15

Concert 3.30
The programme will consist of the chamber pieces rehearsed during the day and any solos that you wish to perform. Participation is purely voluntary and it will be a really informal affair. It’s a great opportunity though – and you will be playing to the most supportive audience ever!

And finally….
I will be sending out music in the week beginning 24th September to anyone who would like it. Please indicate your standard on the application form so that I can hopefully try to organise the groups accordingly. My aim is to help everyone improve during the day so if you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to seeing you!
